Dr. Emily Diehm graduated from the School of Communication Science and Disorders in 2015. She was a Postdoctoral Interdisciplinary Research Training (PIRT) Institute of Education Sciences (IES) fellow, and worked with students and faculty from several departments and schools at FSU, as well as the Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR), to learn rigorous research techniques and content knowledge relevant to educational research. Dr. Diehm's clinical and research interests include investigating the underlying cognitive, linguistic, and metalinguistic factors that contribute to oral language and literacy development in the preschool population, predictors of future difficulty in reading, spelling, or writing, and early development of children with comorbid speech, language, and literacy disorders, as well as their longitudinal outcomes.
Dr. Diehm is currently a faculty member at the University of Toledo and maintains a website of her current work.
