Clariebelle Gabas is a second year doctoral student in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders and funded by the Bilingual Oral Language and Literacy Development (BOLLD) grant. Her work on BOLLD involves specialized coursework and research that focuses on dual language learning and literacy development to help improve instructional supports and services for children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Her advisor is Dr. Estrella Rodriguez.
Clariebelle is a Florida State University alum and practiced as a school-based speech-language pathologist in Florida for three years.
Her research interests include: neurolinguistics, typical and atypical oral language and literacy development, phonological and vocabulary development in dual language learners, language disorders in multilingual and multicultural populations, and intervention and assessment strategies for Response to Intervention (RTI).
