Leesa Marante is currently a first-year doctoral student in the school of Communication Science & Disorders at Florida State. She is working under the supervision of Dr. Shannon Hall-Mills and Dr. Carla Wood.
She attended Florida State University for her undergraduate degree and master's degree in speech language pathology. She became a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in 2016 and is currently a practicing clinician in the Tallahassee community.
Her research interests include: early language and literacy development, oral and written language development, metalinguistic skills and the prevention of academic failure, language disorders and reading disorders in at risk student populations. She hopes to aide school-based speech language pathologists in providing evidenced-based vocabulary interventions and effective Individualized Education Plans.
